I’m Peter Barnes, founder of Heartland AI Solutions. Before starting Heartland, I spent years talking with small, local construction companies and service businesses. I’ve seen firsthand how small businesses get squeezed. They’re too small for enterprise solutions but too busy to DIY everything.

I became fascinated with AI not because it’s trendy, but because I kept seeing business owners waste hours on tasks that could be handled in minutes. At the same time, I noticed how confusing the landscape had become. So many tools, so many promises, and not much clarity about what actually works for businesses like theirs.

So I decided to focus on something simple: help small businesses figure out what actually makes sense for them. Sometimes that’s AI. Sometimes it’s just a better workflow. Either way, you get a clear answer from someone who understands the challenges you’re facing.

Based in Omaha, Nebraska, I work with small businesses across the Midwest who want practical solutions, not science projects.
